Burundi Mikuba Washed Processed 2026
Burundi Mikuba Washed Processed 2026
BORN UNDER THE BANANA TREES
Mikuba Hill is located in Burundi's Kayanza Province, near the Kibira rainforest and is known as one of the premier growing locations in all of Africa featuring a lush microclimate where local smallholder farmers intercrop specialty coffee with bananas and acacia.
Mikuba Hill is flanked by the Ruvubu river and is a stone’s throw away from Heza Washing Station, built by Long Miles Coffee in 2014 as Burundi's first facility to wash process coffee cherries.
Kayanza Province is located at high altitude (1,960 masl), has a moderate climate, and its close proximity to Burundi’s only indigenous rainforest allows the indigenous Bourbon varietal to ripen slowly and develop a deep, rich sweetness which plays nicely with brightness and balanced acidity of the cup.
